A stunning antique Victorian diamond set locket brooch made in 15ct gold. C1880s

The piece is extremely well made and features a row of diamonds with two outer tear shape settings. The stones are raised on a smooth gold step with rounded edges and surrounded by fabulous ornate filigree rope and ball detail. The brooch ends are nicely finished off with chased flower detail. The reverse of the brooch displays an oval locket with original glass. The locket part has a gold lip which is eased out from the brooch and slots back neatly.

I haven't seen many brooches from this period in such nice quality and oozes class. It has obviously been very well looked after over all these years.

The diamonds display natural sparkle and are well-matched stones.
