This attractive filing chest dates from c.1890. We believe it to be constructed from solid oak and ash, which has been ebonised. The chest has six small drawers which retain their original decorative brass handles. At the bottom of the chest is a small open section with a shaped apron at the top. The chest is supported on a shaped plinth base and has panelled sides and a panelled back.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing, knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and some surface denting. One of the handles shows some signs of repair.
