Antique large Victorian C1880-1900 Gillows oak library writing table desk.
This is a lovely quality piece, that is full of age, charm and character.
Solid, heavy and with no loose joints....a very rare find.
No woodworm.
Drawer stamped Gillows.
What appears to be the original (certainly very old) thick patinated rexine top.
Lovely simple styling with clean lines and magnificent gun barrel legs.
The oak lined drawers slide freely (some internal staining as one would expect).
Would look great in the right location!
Overall maximum dimensions 153cmW x 91cmD x 76.5cmH (58.5cmH knee hole).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. No keys and the locks are consequently untested.
