Victorian Lacewood (?) Davenport. Writing Desk
This is an exceptional quality antique Victorian Davenport.
It is craftsman built using the most beautiful and unusual highly figured timber, possibly lacewood or leopard wood.
The desk has a hideaway bank of drawers to the back, with pigeon holes and a hinged pen and ink drawer. The mechanism is released by a button catch to the side, and slides up into position.
The writing slope has a good quality replacement red leather surface, and slides left to access the stationary storage space below.
There are 3 full depth drawers on the right hand side with 2 dummy drawers above.
The left hand side has a complete set of 5 dummy drawer fronts.
Excellent condition throughout.
The mechanism of pulleys and weights that counterbalance the bank of drawers has been completely restored ALL OF OUR PRICES INCLUDE FREE UK MAINLAND DELIVERY.
