Victorian Large Button Back Chesterfield Sofa
An attractive large antique upholstered sofa. We date this sofa to the late 19th century.
The armrests continue up from the front of the sofa and have been heavily overstuffed to form the classic scroll end. The sofa sits on four well turned feet over brass castors and cups.
The sofa is upholstered in a yellow fabric with deep stitched button detail on the backrest.
The sofa has an overall height of 33.5" (85cm), an overall width of 76" (193cm), an overall depth of 33" (84cm), a backrest height of 19.5" (45cm), a seat height of 15" (38cm), a seat width of 53.5" (136cm) and a seat depth of 20" (51cm).
This attractive antique sofa remains in a good solid condition. The fabric has some light wear and usage marks including a slightly darker mark to the right hand side back corner to the seat area, we have not attempted to have the sofa professionally cleaned.
This remains a very stylish and elegant sofa. It is comfortable and will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
