This is a good quality Victorian mahogany breakfront wardrobe featuring a mirror to the centre door and a lovely dark colour to the mahogany. It is in very good condition and dates to circa 1880.

It has a moulded cornice above a central door with a shaped arched mirror and flanked by two rounded panel doors to each side. The doors are fitted with wooden knob handles and have locks and a key. The whole piece stands on a plinth base.

The centre door opens to reveal a 104cm high hanging section with a brass rail and lined in a blue & white striped cotton. The side sections each have a brass hanging rail which is mounted in a mahogany frame so it can pull-out if desired. The left side also has a useful drawer to the base. We think the drawers are lined in ash wood as they have a pleasant smell.

For ease of transporting and moving this separates into five sections.

CONDITION

This is in very good condition, there are the usual minor veneer losses to the bottom edges and only a small numbers of other surface marks. The right hand side has faded slightly (not to the front though).
