Victorian Mahogany Compact Chest of Drawers
An antique mahogany chest of drawers, two small over two large drawers, with an unusual up-stand at the back, standing on bun feet. The drawers are oak lined. It has turned handles with attractive decorative mother of pearl in the centre. The front edges are curved.
The piece has developed a mellow antique colour. It almost certainly retains its original finish, as shown by the fact that the original plaster of Paris used as a grain filler by Victorian french polishers can be seen.
The piece has signs of wear and tear as would be expected of antique furniture which is more than one hundred years old, this adds to the charm and authenticity of the chest. Viewing by appointment is always welcome, telephone 07918 177438 to arrange a convenient time.
