A handsome antique Victorian mahogany desk with drawers dating from circa 1880. In mellow well figured mahogany it stands on elegant turned legs with original brass casters. It has a small raised gallery back above two drawers, each with original turned knob-handles, each drawer with green baize lined fitted interior. A well-proportioned piece, it is a good size, offering lots of work space but not too large. This piece was probably made originally as a serving table or wash stand, but makes a wonderful desk.

Solid and sturdy. Good colour. marks, scuffs and wear commensurate with age. A split to top which has been filled with wax (solid).
