This rare and unusual piece of Victorian majolica ware is in the form of a monkey riding on an elephant, C. 1860. It has several minor old chips but does not detract at all from the piece. There are no cracks and the colors are very bright and vibrant. The box measures approximately 11 in – 28 cm wide, 4 in – 10 cm deep and 8 ¾ in – 22.2 cm in height.
