This Victorian oak open bookcase, styled after Pugin, is in outstanding antique condition. The top lifts to disclose a secret compartment within the exquisitely carved frieze. It features two bays with eight adjustable shelves, ribbed fronts, and fabric lining, bordered by two carved pillars, one hiding an additional three shelves. Elevated on a stepped plinth, the bookcase embodies the Gothic revival era's aesthetic, making it an ideal piece to showcase a grand book collection or display cherished items with style.
