This is an absolute gem. Firstly, let me tell you what a sweet little size this chiffonier is. The chiffonier is only 35.5 inches wide and 60 inches high even with its top. The chiffonier is petite and incredibly elegant and could fit in to any house, great or small in Britain. The chiffonier is made in mahogany and is very early Victorian, dating to around 1840 - 1850. The chiffonier has a shaped rack , the shelves supported by barley twist columns. It has a polished top, beneath which is a drawer with convex drawer front and open shelved cupboard below. It stands on a plinth base. The mahogany is rich and well polished and the condition is very good.

Here comes the fun bit! The drawer opens and the drawer front can be dropped by use of two original brass buttons and the drawer is converted in to a desk / secretaire, for writing at. This is a beautiful feature. Look at the quality of the brass mechanism. It works as well today as the day it was made. This is super quality. The desk is lined with original baize. The baize shows signs of wear and age as you would expect but you wouldn't want to replace it. This was a top of the range quality piece of antique furniture in its day and it is as beautiful now as the day it was made.

The chiffonier is in good condition. Mahogany well polished. One small crack beneath a shelf on top - see photo.

This chiffonier is incredibly elegant and would look good in a room furnished in high end period antiques.

The chiffonier is 35.5 inches wide and 17 inches deep and 60 inches high.
