Victorian S Mordan & Co Book Press With Bespoke Stand
This is an impressive Victorian cast iron and brass book press by S Mordan & Co London.
The book press is positioned on its original, bespoke, mahogany stand which has two drawers, the top one of which locks with key. On both sides of the stand there are side flaps supported on wooden, hinged supports.
The book press is 37cm high and the stand is 73cm high, with a total height of 110cm. The width when fully opened is 110cm and when closed is 68cm. The depth is 49cm.
It is in fine antique condition with marks and wear commensurate with age as indicated in the photographs.
Collection from Chester or bespoke courier delivery can be arranged to mainland UK at buyer's expense excluding Northern Ireland and Scottish Highlands. This is a very heavy item and will require two people to lift it on collection/delivery. The book press is the heavy part and this can be detached from the stand for collection/delivery.
