Victorian Silver Fusee Pocket Watch
Hallmarked London 1861
In a substantial modern pocket watch box.
The movement is signed Burlingham , Lynn & Peterboro and is no. 30334.
Silvered Dial.
The case maker is probably Michael Klean.
There is a personal inscription from the Ancient Order of Foresters inside the back of the case which reads:
"Presented by Court 1307 of the A. O. F.
To Bro Wm Goldspink
For 22 years Faithful Services
As Secretary
Of The Above Court
Kings Lynn
January 7th 1869"
Key and and key hand set - key supplied.
To wind the watch - open the back by pressing the button and lift the hinged cover which reveals the winding point. Insert the key and wind anti-clockwise.
To set the hands - lever open the front with your thumb nail and place the key on the nut at the centre where the hands are held and turn the key.
The modern watch box is in great condition and has the Picketts and Pursers of Hampshire emblem inside.
The engine turned design of the silver case is quite rubbed although still visible.
Vacant Cartouche on the back cover.
The silvered dial is in great condition.
The movement has been serviced and is working well.
You can expect the time keeping to be within 5 minutes per day which is generally considered acceptable for antique watches.
The movement is guaranteed for 12 months.
