Victorian Single Ash Wardrobe With Drawer Base
A lovely antique ash wardrobe. We date this wardrobe to the late 19th century.
The wardrobe sits on bracket feet. The wardrobe comes in one main section plus the cornice. Please measure to make sure it will fit through doors, around corners etc. The front of the wardrobe has a single bevelled mirrored door. The door is flanked by a panel at each side.
The interior of the wardrobe is fitted with two front to back hanging rails and eight hooks, four at the rear, one at each side and two on the ceiling of the wardrobe. There is a large drawer to the base of the wardrobe. The wardrobe is lined in its original fabric.
The drawer and wardrobe door are fitted with drop handles mounted on backplates and are both fitted with locks (no key is supplied but one could be obtained if required). The handle turns to open the catch on the door.
The wardrobe has a height of 79" (201cm), a cornice width of 52.5" (134cm) and a depth of 20.5" (52cm).
The internal hanging depth measurement is 16” (40cm), the hanging height is 54.5” (138cm) and the hangin width 46.5” (118cm).
This lovely wardrobe remains in good condition with some surface markings and indentations commensurate with age and usage. There is some wear to the feet, some of the edges and some indentations to the outer sides. There is an old repair to the bottom of the right hand front panel. The internal fabric shows some wear and marks from past use.
This remains a very stylish and elegant wardrobe which will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
