A lovely antique bedside chest. We date this chest to the late 19th century.

The chest sits on a carved front plinth base with its original brass castors. The top surface has a lovely fixed red, grey and white marble top.

The cabinet has canted corners and consists of a top drawer over a cupboard, with a further two drawers at the base. The panelled drawer fronts are fitted with wooden button handles. The cupboard door front has been made to look like two drawers and has a bottom hinge so when open it is a shelf. The cupboard is lined with grey marble.

The cabinet has an overall height of 36.5" (93cm), a width of 16" (41cm) and a depth of 14.5" (37cm).

This attractive cabinet remains in good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is some minor wear to some edges of the chest and the marble top with some tiny nibbles to the edges to the marble top from past use.

This remains a very stylish & elegant cabinet. It could serve well as either a bedside cabinet or as a side cabinet. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
