Victorian Walnut, Burr Walnut and Inlaid Occasional table
Circa 1870, mid-Victorian walnut, burr walnut and inlaid octagonal occasional table. The table has a top smothered in burr walnut with matching veneers. In the centre there is a stylish motif with satinwood, ebony and amboyna inlay. There is a deep border in the centre with satinwood towards the edge and a lighter walnut veneer. The table has a simple apron in walnut with satinwood and ebony inlay. The table stands on 4 elegant turned and fluted uprights which finish with a very stylish carved space. In the centre there is a carved finial and a large circular pod. On this pod there are 4 elegant down swept sabre legs in burr walnut with aboyna inlay panels on the front. The table finishes on a very stylish carved cabriole leg with acanthus leaves on the knee and white porcelain castors beneath. The table is in excellent condition.
