This Victorian conversation seat is of a clover leaf shape with 3 individual seats. The centre buttoned backs having a shaped walnut frame which has carved detail and is inlaid with boxwood stringing and small burr walnut circles and marquetry boxwood flowers. The base with double boxwood line inlay and standing on solid turned walnut legs with further boxwood line inlay and small ebony circles. The original castors are brass with brown porcelain wheels. The upholstery is old but fully serviceable with close buttoned back and pleated edge seat. For transportation this unusual settee travels in 2 pieces (the back is removable which also makes it easier for re-upholstering). More photos available.
