This Victorian walnut desk by Edwards and Roberts was made circa 1870 and they used the very desirable burr walnut to face the drawers and top.
The firm of Edwards & Roberts was founded in 1845, and had premises at 21 Wardour Street, London. Primarily cabinet makers but they also had retail showroom, being famous for producing some of the very finest antique furniture of the Victorian era.
Having this makers stamp gives the buyer the knowledge that they own a piece by one of the best makers but also that these desks are rare as there were few made.
It was made in 3 parts as you would expect so that it can be moved around your home or office with ease.
The drawers are of the usual form with 3 along the top and a further 3 to each side of the kneehole.
