Vintage 18" English Mohair Teddy Bear
This lovely vintage bear has no maker's marks or labels, but we believe him to be English-made, possibly by Chad Valley or Farnell. He has golden mohair fur and rexine pads (although most of the rexine covering is now worn away). He is soft stuffed with a hard stuffed snout, has glass eyes, black claw stitching and a black stitched nose and mouth. He has a squeaker inside which is no longer operative. We believe him to date from the 1930s/40s.
Condition: Overall in very good condition, with some playwear consistent with age. He is overall a little dusty and faded, but his mohair fur is still thick and fluffy with only a few thinning patches. Most of the surface of his rexine pads are worn away. The squeaker inside his chest is no longer operative.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
47cm high. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
