This is a vintage Japanned whatnot. A Japanese, lacquered 2-tier stand, dating to the late Art Deco period, circa 1940.
Charming two-tiered whatnot with strong Deco period taste
Displays a desirable aged patina in original order
Striking lacquered finish with warm contrasted hues
Colourful bird and flowerhead motif decorate each tier
Standing upon a pair of stepped trestle feet
This is a delightful vintage Japanned whatnot, with deep black finish and colourful decor. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
