A good quality walnut Davenport, the top with hinged lid concealing a stationery compartment with pen rest and 2 inkwells, over a leathered writing surface, which opens to reveal two drawers and pigeon holes. The lower half has beautiful cabriole supports in the high Victorian manner and is fitted with drawers and opposing dummy drawers. The illustration shows one lower handle missing. The original has now been re-affixed. Ht 86, W 55, D 55 cms. Frank Craig Antiques established 1972, with 50 years in the antique trade.
