Welsh Oak Bread & Cheese Cupboard c.1810.
Fine example of the classic late Georgian Welsh oak kitchen cupboard of a type known locally as a ‘Cwpwrdd Bara Caws’ or bread and cheese cupboard c.1810. Two door cupboard top with the vented door panels typical of the form and fitted with two shelves (the top one being half depth), over a two door cupboard base with two drawers at the waist. Flared cornice, attractive patterned piercing to the vented panels, diamond bone escutcheons and brass drawer knobs. Original base moulding and bracket feet. Deal side panels, original shelves, back and floor boards. Replacement return to the left side of the cornice, otherwise excellent colour and condition. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
