Early 19th.c. North Wales oak press or cloak cupboard c.1820. In two pieces, the two door cupboard top fitted with a later brass hanging rail and hooks (internal depth 18½”) over a chest of two short and two long drawers. Crisp moulded cornice with mahogany crossbanded frieze. Pointed arch top door panels with moulded surround and flanked with a superb pair of turned and faceted columns. Cockbeaded drawer fronts with original turned rosewood knobs with mother of pearl centres. Original waist and base mouldings and tall bracket feet. Oak panelled sides. Excellent condition and very attractive pale colour, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Could be easily fitted with shelves if prefered, to make a useful kitchen cupboard.
