A beautiful early walnut chest in two parts dating to c.1700 William & Mary/Queen Anne. With a warm mellow colour and good grain it has a quarter veneered, cross and feather banded top above two short and three long graduated drawers with feather banded edges and surrounded by D-mouldings. With brass escutcheons and original handles this rare chest stands on bun feet to the front.

Designed in two parts so ideal for getting up a narrow staircase, the drawers can be fully removed and the top lifted off and relocated once in position. There are some minor losses to the bandings and some old worm holes (as should be expected in walnut of this age), and we do not have a key for the locks.
