William IV Mahogany Hall Chair

An elegant and fine quality William IV period mahogany hall chair, having a beautifully carved shell and scroll carved back above solid mahogany seat raised on turned tapering legs to the front and swept sabre legs to the rear.
Width 16” (41cm) Depth 16” (41cm) Height (overall) 33” (84cm) Height (seat) 17” (43cm)
Condition & Details of Restoration
This chair is in original structural condition. The polish has been revived, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some minor old marks under the polish, but nothing you wouldn’t expect to find on a chair like this that is in very good condition for its age. Often these types of chairs have old repairs to the back where it is joined to the seat as this is a ‘weak spot’ for this type of design fortunately, this chair bears no such damage or repair.
