Highest quality William IV mahogany and inlaid night table by WILLSON of LONDON. Bow-fronted shape to the front with square tapering legs and spade feet. The front has bow tambour cupboard to the top with drawer beneath. The drawer is oak lined with fine dovetails and original gilded brass oval plate handles. The top has a wide tulipwood cross banding that is repeated in smaller scale to the sides and front. The legs have a satinwood inlay to the top at the front and have boxwood stringing to all corners. The piece has all its original brassware including very nice carrying handles to the sides.

The top edge of the drawer is stamped with the makers mark of WILLSON, 68 GREAT QUEEN STREET, LONDON. It is believed they were both makers and retailors of antique furniture at the time. There is quite a bit of information about the firm on the internet.

There is no damage or repairs that I can see and the piece is a very nice mellow mahogany colour.

Bedside night antique tables don't really come much better.
