William IV Mahogany Open Library Bookcase

A handsome William IV/early Victorian mahogany open library bookcase. With a square cornered moulded cornice above three open shelved sections each with four adjustable shelves, the stepped out base with a central pair of fielded panelled doors and also with adjustable shelves. All raised on a moulded plinth base, and able to store a large run of books just over 19.5m / 64ft long. Comes with a key for the lock.
Constructed using fine quality well figured mahogany that has gently faded to a warm mellow colour & patina, marks consistent with age and use including dark marks to the top surface, and corners on the base & plinth, there is a chip to the bottom corner of the left door and the lower centre shelf but these can be repaired if required. Old restorations to the left hand edge top surface, cornice and plinth.
