William R Stone
A quite superb oil on canvas by William R Stone act 1865 1877.He painted around Worcestershire and Herefordshire, some of his paintings are available as prints.
I have been told that this picture has been used as a decoration on a Christmas card, II cannot confirm this.
The inscription on the canvas Verso says painted near Bromsgrove in Worcestershire. I think the Church steeple in the background could be Tardibigge Church being viewed from one of the villages, however a gentleman who is familier with the area is of the opinion that it could be a Bromsgrove church as viewed from the Kidderminster Road. Research will continue.
