WilliamIV Mahogany Extending Pedestal Dining Table

An outstanding antique late Regency/William IV mahogany wind-out extending pedestal dining table with four additional leaves and dating to c.1830. The rare central split pedestal moves apart as the table is extended to form end supports and reveal a hidden central leg. Strong mahogany runners, a steel winding screw and original brass castors allow the smooth extension from 6ft to 13ft5in allowing up to 14 to be seated comfortably or 16 more closely. When closed the superbly carved pedestal and platform base make a beautiful centre or dining table.
With a rich colour & patina and wonderful figuring to both the top and pedestal, facetted column with crisp carving and four scrolled feet. Some old repairs to the runner stretchers which are concealed below the top of the table and chips to the inside top edge of the pedestal. Chairs are shown for illustration purposes and are available to buy separately at the time of listing.

Please feel free to request more photos as we are limited in the number we can upload. Please appreciate all our items are antique and as such may have minor scratches, marks, knocks, shrinkage splits signs of old woodworm, and minor losses to veneer, which combine with care and years of polishing to create an individual character and patina. We cannot describe each marks separately and therefore suggest you do take the time to request extra photos. We do offer a 14 day money back guarantee for UK purchases but cannot refund the return shipping cost.
