This is a very good example of a mass produced mid to late C19th Buckinghamshire armchair. Often referred to as an ‘Oxford’ chair but made in numerous workshops by different craftsmen throughout the region. That it exists in such good condition a century after being made, says much for the high level of workmanship with which these makers practised their craft.
