Quality Writing Bureau - Burr Walnut - c1930
A quality serpentine front bureau of useful proportions with splendid fitted interior presented in excellent condition.
Rising from squat cabriole legs, with claw & ball feet, into the serpentine main body featuring four full width drawers with quality dovetails and original brass back-plate handles and matching lock escutcheons.
Burr walnut veneer is present across the fall flap and drawer fronts and this theme follows to the interior.
The upper presents a fall front opening to provide a pleasing work area perfect for regular use. There is a fine original tooled and embossed leather skiver.
Within the high quality fitted interior there are serpentine drawers, cubbies and letter slots and a central main space with cabinet door flanked by secret pull out column ended slot compartments.
Overall a very desirable quality example in excellent order providing huge style and practicality.
