WW1 War and Victory medals R.N.V.R

1 of 3
WW1 War and Victory medals.
The British war medal was awarded to officers and men who completed at least 28 days service either on operational duties in a theatre of war, or who entered overseas service between 5th August 1914 and 11th November 1918. This was later extended to include services in Russia and Siberia in 1919-20. The medal was automatically awarded in the event of death on active service before the completion of this period.
The Victory medal was awarded to anyone who was mobilised in any service and who entered a theatre of war between 5th August 1914 and 11th November 1918. It was never awarded singly. To receive it, you must also have been awarded at least one of the 1914 star, the 1914-15 star or the British war medal.
Both the War and the Victory medals were engraved/stamped with the recipient's service number, rank, name and regiment round the edge. These details are stamped on the back of the 1914 and 1914-15 stars.
These two medals are correctly named to "L.Z. 5311 A E Green Tel. R.N.V.R." - a telegraphist with the Royal Naval Voluntary Reserve, London Division.
Both medals are full size, and measure approximately 3.5 cm (1.5") in diameter.
For condition, please study photos. Please note particularly the gilding is mostly worn off the Victory medal.
Selling price includes free UK postage. For other countries, please contact us for a quote.
