This group of four world war two medals is made up of the 1939-45 star, the Africa star, Defence and War medals.
The group also comes with the matching dress uniform bar.
The 1939-45 star was awarded for 180 days of operational service overseas between 3rd September 1939 and 8th May 1945.
The Africa star was awarded for one or more days service in North Africa, Malta or Egypt between 10th June 1940 and 12th May 1943. This Africa star also carries a "North Africa 1942-43" bar. This bar was awarded to staff of the 18 Army Group Headquarters, who served under a specified General and between specified dates.
The Defence medal was awarded for 1080 days of non-operational service (e.g. UK based headquarters, training bases or airfields).
The War medal was awarded to full-time personnel of the armed services, serving at least 28 days between 3rd September 1939 and 2nd September 1945.
Other criteria applied to Naval and Air Force personnel.
The medals are not engraved to any named recipient.
All medals are full size. The Defence and Victory medals are 3.5 cm (1.5") in diameter. The Stars measure 4.5 cm (1.75) by 4.5 cm (1.75").
