A fine quality Georgian period moon phase longcase clock. A high quality mahogany case with rosewood crossbanding and inlays. A swan neck hood pediment with brass patterae and central finial. Corinthian brass capped hood side columns. Chamfered trunk sides with line inlays. Rosewood and line banded base panel and standing on the original tapered feet. An attractive arched painted dial with lunar moon phases. A seconds and date dial indicators and floral painted corners. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

William Young of Nottingham is recorded in Loomes 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1795-1798 in a partnership and then alone until 1825.
