Description

Early Industrial Colorimeter Made By T.D. Simpson Of Philadelphia PA. While Visiting An Estate In St. Louis, I Noticed This Unusual Instrument. Upon Researching I Learned What Its Original Purpose Was Which Made It More Unusual And Interesting. Sold By Fisher Scientific Co. Of Pittsburg PA, This Instrument Was Used To Assist In Determining The Color Of Liquids, Particularly Oils For Lubrication. One Original Glass Bottle Still Remains But Appears To Have Been Repaired. Wood Retains Its Original Finish Which Has Developed A Deep Patina, Beautiful!! Light Can Be Adjusted/ Telescoped But Is Not Moveable Due To Heavy Oxidation. Paper Hangtag Reads "Wooden Colorimeter w/ Elec. Light (D.C.) 90". Original Frosted Blue Lens Is Still Present And Free Of Damage.
