Description

A handsome set of four antique Victorian rosewood balloon back dining chairs dating from circa 1860. In solid rosewood, the balloon backs with carved details to the top rails and back stretchers. Loose sprung seat pads in a woven damask with serpentine fronts over rosewood veneered rails. Raised on cabriole front legs with carved details to the knees. Maker’s marks to the front rails for Hughes & Co. of Bold Street Liverpool. Some wear to the seats, generally good condition, solid and sturdy.
