Description

A charming antique late Victorian Arts and Crafts oak double bed dating from circa 1900. In wonderfully figured oak with good colour and patina, featuring vertical slats flanked by square pilasters topped with an over sailing flat cap top rail. This elegant bed also has attractive carved roundels to the central splats of the headboard and footboard along with a serpentine apron to the bottom of the footboard. It has metal jigsaw hitches to which two wooden side rails attach making a very solid bed frame, which is easily assembled or dis-assembled. Comprising of a headboard, footboard and wooden side rails (no base included).

Good condition with good colour and patina. Wear and marks commensurate with age. One of the vertical splats to the footboard has warped a little over the years.
