Description

A charming 18th century oak bible box with hinged slope above a carved frieze. Good colour and patina, retaining the original butterfly hinges and shaped lock plate. It has a gallery top which allows items to be placed on top (a later addition attached by screws that can be easily removed) . To the inside are two shelves. Would make a lovely storage box or desk-top writing slope.
