A 17th century Jacobean oak Bible Box

Of plain design the lid, front and back boards have chipped carved edges that all overhang the plain sides.

Circa 1620

Wonderful colour ,the base board is a period replacement and both side boards have replacements ,I can not work out if this is a bible box or a small coffer that has lost its height ,which ever it was done a long time ago as the colour and dirt build up are at least early 19th century , a few knocks as expected but a great size and a usable box
