I came across a small number of these years ago at a surplus store in Buenos Aires and was told that they had been produced at the time of Peron's sometimes turbulent rule as president of the Argentine. Representing a member of the Presidential Guard they proved popular with members of the military as adornments for their vehicles. Cast in brass and chromium plated they may lack the finesse of European car mascots but nevertheless are a moment of that period of South American history. Standing around 130mm high with worn/weathered plating.
