Description

A cupboard designed for the "Letchworth" range circa 1910 by Sir Ambrose Heal and made by Heal & Son of Tottenham Court Road. There is a Heal & Son ivorine lable let into the top of one of the drawers. The cupboard is quite heavy as it is made from solid quarter-sawn lightly limed golden oak although it is of a rather pale shade. The cupboard may originally have been stained a dark brown as part of their "Rustic" range of furniture. If so the outside has been professionally stripped. There are a few light marks on the top commensurate with age and use and a slight seperation of one of the top planks on one side of the top and the bottom of one drawe has a crack in the wood. There are otherwise no signs of dammage or repairs.
