Description

This solid oak coffer, or blanket box, was made by the renowned craftsman, Jack Grimble of Cromer. It is of pegged plank construction, with gouged decoration to its edges, and the front is beautifully hand carved with a figure in mediaeval costume. The feet are formed by a pointed arch, deeply chamfered, on both of the side panels. Inside is one large open space and Grimble's carved signature is under the lid.
