Alvar Aalto for Artek, Finland, a birchwood 296 rectangular desk cabinet, stamped marks Aalto design Artek . five drawers and shelves to the back, mounted on wooden castors, 66cm high x 38cm wide x 69.5cm deep. Artek was founded in Helsinki in 1935 by four young idealists: Alvar and Aino Aalto, Maire Gullichsen, and Nils-Gustav Hahl.
