ere we have for sale a lovely gilt silver (medal marked silver) and guilloche enamel Order of the League of Mercy Medal on its original bow.

The League was founded 1899 by Royal Charter of Queen Victoria to form groups of volunteer workers to assist with the maintenance of hospitals. The Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, was its first Grand President.

Condition report : A fine early 20th century specimen in gilt silver and enamels with some age related wear and tarnish, the bow is a little grubby and the pin needs bending back.

A superb example and a great addition to any medical or medal collection
