Arthur Vandyk Antiques are delighted to offer sale this stunning set of six 1960's Mid Century Modern hallmarked sterling silver coffee bean demitasse spoons with multi coloured Bakelite coffee bean finials.

This lovely set of spoons are not of the standard form and have short rat tail oval bowls, each spoon has an unusual large brightly coloured Bakelite coffee bean, very reminiscent of the retro style trends of the late 1950s and early 1960s.

This is a highly presentable set of spoons are ideal for entertaining indoors and outdoors. This spoon set would make the perfect birthday, mother's day, father's day or valentine's day present for a loved one. The finials are just beautiful, the turquoise and yellow pastel shades contrasted with the deeper purple and blue hues create a dazzling and attractive array of colours.

The set comes complete a period box.

Spoons

The spoons are in very good condition for their age of over with light age related wear, light surface scratches and tarnish marks, there are some minor scratches to the Bakelite finials.

Box

The period box that comes with the spoons is in good overall condition some very minor scuffs to the exterior and age related wear, the black velvet is in excellent order and the faux silk lining is in very good condition with some small marks, but the condition of the white lining is amongst the best I have seen with spoons of this age. The clasp works perfectly and secures the spoons nicely.
