Arthur Vandyk Antiques are proud to present for sale this exquisite quality mid 19th Century hallmarked silver christening fork and spoon set which by the highly regarded 19th Century silversmith Francis Higgins II, who specialised in the manufacture of fine quality flatware.

This set is a beautiful example of Higgins Victorian silver flatware: the spoon and fork have very ornate and intricate detailing creating a delightful pattern and would look stunning on display in your home.

This would be the perfect gift for a loved one, particularly for mothers day or could serve as a wonderful christening present.

I am unsure of the name of this is fine Rococo influenced pattern but it is very reminiscent of designs produced by Storr Mortimer. Both the spoon fork carry a period monogram.

Spoon fork:

In very good condition considering their age of 172 years with some minor tarnish marks and some age related wear, such as surface scratches - some of which are slightly deeper.
