Description

Made in the original Iona work shop, assayed in Birmingham in 1936.
This is a fine example of Alexander Ritchie's work. The beautiful Celtic design was inspired by the carved stones found on the holy island of Iona. A Penannular Scottish brooch was originally designed to pin the tartan robes but is now used to thread and stylishly secure a scarf.
It is well marked with ICA (Iona Celtic Art). Makers mark AR and its Assayed marks.
It measures 4 cm or 1.5 "
