very rare Original Art Work Which Was Intended For Publication as a Travel Delivery Poster for the Railway Company. This very Iconic 1930s pre publication original art Work was Designed and Made by the Southern Railway Travel Poster.
The Lino Cut Depicts a Southern Railway Dennis Delivery Lorry/ Truck ,with the Southern Railway Lettered Sign to the Roof of the Lorry cab and a Shredded Wheat Advertisement on the Side Canvas Cover of the Lorry and a South of England Area Coast Line Map For the English South Coast Showing the Area that Southern Railways Trains Travelled To and From.
The Lino Cut also has a Nice Bright Red Arrow Flash to the Image. The Image is Unlettered as any Lettering That May Have Been Intended for the Poster Would have been done at the time the Art Work Would have been given to the Firm of Printers Who Printed the Southern Railway Company Travel Posters.
This is a very rare very Iconic Piece of Original Art Deco Art originally Commissioned by Southern Railway as a Travel Delivery Poster,it was Possibly Never Ever Printed as a Poster Due to the start of World War 2 as it is Dated 39.

David William Burley 1901 -1990 Trained as a Artist at Goldsmiths Collage of Art London in the 1920s, After which he Worked as a Staff Artist for Southern Railway, he Used to Claim that Millions of People Saw his Art Every Day as he was one of the Artists who Designed and Painted some of the Most Iconic of the Railway holiday travel posters that are so Highly Collecable Today .
As well as Working for Southern Railway he also Exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art London and was a Member of the Institute of Painters in Watercolours. David William Burley Retired From Southern Railway in 1948 .
