Description
Vintage 1950s School teachers masters desk sometimes referred to as The Headmasters Desk designed by James Leonard for Esavian (The Education Supply Association ESA ) Circa 1948Very stylish somewhat rare piece of post war British modernism designed made during the post war utility era
The desk has its polished hardwood teak top which is supported on its hollow cast aluminum base and legs the desk also has a useful central teak drawer.
The overall design being somewhat similar with its use of recycled surplus wartime aircraft cast alluiminm to furniture designed during the same period by Ernest race
Rare scarce example of retro vintage education supply School room furniture from the late 1940s era.
The desk also makes a very stylish industrial school statement piece for use as a kitchen dining table being a ideal size for seating 4 people.ideal for use as a computer monitor desk.
The condition is very good clean solid strong condition.
James Leonard worked as a designer for Esavian ESA during the late 1940s 50s 60s using post war modernist methods of industrial manufacture.
