Description

A over large glass wine goblet c 1880s wheel engraved very large glass with sprays of ferns and flowers with panels of cut stars.
This antique glass goblet is of very large proportions capable of holding the contents of a whole bottle of wine one photo shows the glass with a bottle of wine to give a sense of the large size.
A beautiful and unusual piece in excellent condition
The glass is 21 cm high by 12.5cm across the rim.

Engraved botanical designs on glasses were popular during the middle/late 19th c period as many landowners were competing with each other to grow plants from cuttings brought back from exotic places.
